Curate of Curiosities

The "Date" Part of the Dating Sim

Previously on Moe Era, we played a really pretentious game, got sent to Russia via the Backrooms, watched a vaporwave music video, got sent to America via the Backrooms, fumbled through a job interview, and set up a date at a fancy restaurant.

However, the date could be a little problematic, given our apparent habit of waking up in a different country every morning.

Fortunately, this time we just wake up in our own bedroom, without any dreams about backrooms and slot machines.

From there, it's straight to the restaurant from yesterday, where Marta is waiting for us.

Now, in order to succeed in this date, you need to pick exactly the right options. This shouldn't be too hard if you have a handle on the character of your chosen heroine.

...alternatively, you could save scum and brute force your way through.

In her case, when she asks you what dessert you're going to order, select "Peach Passion."

Next, I pick "Tell me about your hobbies."

Sure enough, she tells us that, like she said before, her main hobby is studying and she doesn't have much time for anything else.

From there, we're given our next choice.

I pick "Studying here is sure special."

This prompts her to give her opinions on the other girls.

Next "I only want to talk about you."

My character goes on to ask Marta what she enjoys, and after some hesitation, she answers. She enjoys things like being on the road and...being sick?

Alright...

It took me a while to notice this, but this painting is the background used for the title screen.

Is this another thought exercise? Well, the whole game up to this point has been mostly philosophical tangents and thought exercises, like the thing with the cake.

Just five seconds later...

The camera steadily pans up, and then...

We have our final reward.

For the last time, we go back home and reflect on the day's events.

No younger sisters, no Backrooms, no catgirls, and no scrolls: just pure bliss, and the knowledge a new stage in our hero's life has begun.

And that was Moe Era. Thanks for reading.

Huh? I'm back at the room from the opening? And what's with the get-up? Don't tell me...
