So, regarding the no doubt thrilling prequel to The Reconstruction, I did actually get to play through the prologue back when I was using Windows. Sadly, that's as far as I'll be able to go.

April 8. 2026

Since I've already finished The Reconstruction, yet can't seem to get it's prequel to run at full speed with Wine, I've decided to go back to the very beginning, and show off some things that I missed about Rehm and his irrelevant gang.

Like I said, at least one of Dragoon Entertainment's games is now beatable with Vita3K, so after a hiatus of more than half a year it's time to go back to Canada's most tenacious solo dev.

Just published my final thoughts on Always Sometimes Monsters. I hope it's the last time that I play through an artsy RPG Maker game like this.

On a more pleasant note, a number of the programs that I had with Windows work on Linux with Wine, The Reconstruction being one of them. So here are a couple of memes that I made back when I beat it a few months ago.

So, you may have noticed that I've been a bit slow with the updates recently. That's because I've spent the last couple of weeks preparing to make the switch to Linux Mint! However, since this is a whole other operating system that we're dealing with, things will be greatly affected going forward. In the meantime, here are some screenshots I took with the Vita emulator that I mentioned earlier.

And that's another RPG Maker game finished. You know, maybe we really are Always Sometimes Monsters.

February 16, 2026

Wrapped up town number three of Always Sometimes Monsters. It was tough getting through it, but now the end is within sight. What else will our hero do in his quest to crash his ex's wedding? Certainly not mistake a dog food bowl for a toilet, right?

Another thing: I decided to go back to Taming Dreams and see if I couldn't find a way to play through episode 3. It turns out that you can access your Google account, and anything that you've purchased with it, with Bluestacks. Saving's still out of the question, though.

February 2, 2026

Just finished the second town in Always Sometimes Monsters, featuring Vagabond Dog's attempts to broach the subjects of both the two-party system and income inequality! Huh, seems like we're already halfway through the game. This will not take as long as my writeup of The Reconstruction.

January 25, 2026

Hey, did you know that your choices supposedly matter? Because my playthrough of Always Sometimes Monsters has started, featuring a main character with a name you might already know.

January 18, 2026

Remember those Vita emulation breakthroughs I mentioned earlier? It looks like they weren't quite as major as I hoped. Of the Dragoon Entertainment games that came out on Vita, only Skylight Freerange is completable. At least all three of them can get past their respective main menus.

January 8, 2026

A new year means a new RPG Maker game to look at, and since the last couple that I've showcased have been rather deficient in artsiness and desire to be viewed as more than just simple games, here's Always Sometimes Monsters, a game that won a couple of awards more than a decade ago that I may have once seen on the Google Play Store years ago.

And speaking of Canadian indie games, there's something I want to inform you about. Over the past few months, there have been major breakthroughs in PS Vita emulation, so I decided to test it some of the Vita ROMs that I had on hand. With that, I can now confirm both Dragooned and the Skylight Freerange games are successfully emulatable.

Just finished The Reconstruction. This was more exhausting than I thought it would be. Not because the game is bad, but because I had more to say about it than usual.

December 14, 2025

We're now officially in The Reconstruction's endgame! We've put an end to the war and passed the gods' test! Nothing can stop us now!

December 10, 2025

Like I said, chapter 5 of The Reconstruction is practically done. In it, we fight a superboss that looks more like a marketable plushie, and completely fail to stop a war.

December 4, 2025

Just wrapped up chapter 5. Looks like this is going to be another two-parter, maybe a three-parter.

November 28, 2025

You know how your parents told you that babies grow in cabbage patches? What? They never told you anything like that? Well, in chapter 4 of The Reconstruction, we find out that this is sort of the case for the Shra, except much more horrifying.

November 17, 2025

Now to start chapter 4 for real. Looks like we've got a new client, one who's even more morally questionable than the last one!

November 11, 2025

I'm sure you've noticed that the pages for each the first three chapters of The Reconstruction are already a bit on the long side. Well, chapter 4 has a lot going on, in both story and side content, so I'm considering making its writeup a two-parter.

November 2, 2025

Looks like we have another settlement for the Six Stars guild to grace with its presence! But before that, we need to catch up with that one guy from the prologue, see if he's still kicking.

October 27, 2025

Just finished the third chapter of The Reconstruction. In this chapter, our guild goes on the run from the law and seeks refuge in a town whose authorities actually want to kill one of the guild members, as well as the techbro sheltering them!
